UPDATE: I need to keep up with this blogging o.O Destiny, World of Warcraft, Randomness…

So I haven’t touched this site in a bit an I apologize to my readers… I wonder if I had any… but I am sorry. I’ve been up and down with games and on and off with them as well. Recently I’ve been caught up in the Destiny game for PS4 and will update you guys about that game and how its progress. Some of it is good and the rest is possibly bad but over all the game has been pretty decent for the most part. Other games I will touch up on are World of Warcraft and Dying Light along with Evolve.

Destiny-Beta-Has-No-NDA-But-Players-Can-t-Change-Their-Names-In-Game-449437-2

I’ve been playing Destiny for some time now on the PS4. The game really does have its ups and downs when it comes down to it. I left Destiny off with a 3 out of 5 if I remember correctly. What really brought it down was how they played out the story. You would sit there and play the game and honestly wonder what the heck was going on? Apparently the story is in the grimoire cards on the bungie site. Which in my opinion is cool but at the same time very inconvenient. I honestly don’t see myself going to go through this for the game in all honesty and some others feel the same. Others feel that the game gets to the point with the game and separated the story for a reason so some who didn’t wish to go through it wouldn’t have to? Which made no sense because you still had terrible cut scenes… The game itself is still on the good side for me for a few reasons. I got a great group of friends to tag along with on this game to get things done and actually see raids go well ( FINALLY ) Last time around the groups I got together were just down right terrible. Not many people could follow instructions well and in all honesty bring in people who were below the actual minimum really hurt the whole process. Instead of making the game challenging it made it down right impossible.

The game is still the same song on repeat for every little thing. Here is why I stopped judging the game based on that. I love world of warcraft and some people here might love it just as much. If you ever really looked at what you did for world of warcraft or any other rpgs… You would find your self in the same shoes as Destiny. Even games that don’t have RPGS elements like some actions games, people treat em like a song on repeat. I want to get all the trophies so I will play the game a few more times all the way through… is the mentality of some people. In WOW I found myself doing the same things over and over with dailies and weeklies but the problem was that I was on my own doing these things. The group of friends I had would not be on WOW for what ever reasons they had. So the game got obscenely boring…very quick. In Destiny on PS4 it was the complete opposite. Don’t get me wrong I was doing weeklies and dailies… But this time I had good friends to play with this time. So instead of a grind it became fun. It was great and for PVP… I actually could kick some butt…  >_> So destiny is basically my main game for the time being and hopefully I will keep my readers updated on that and other games that come along. I got a few that I really need to get to in my collection…

Bite Me

Bite Me

Dying Light. This game is crazy… This game is intense! This game is…wait a minute why does this game feel exactly like Dead Island -_-……

2129343-169_dyinglight_walkthru_multi_ot_081613

Take a look at this image and tell me you don’t feel like your back on that cursed island. Apparently word of mouth is that this game is basically Dead Island re done.  Dead Island was the game that the devs did not want and for some reason it happened. This is the end product that they wanted for Dead Island. Dying Light. In all honesty the game is pretty decent so far. Everything is almost the same when it comes to the crazy random weapons you can put together to scavenging randomness and also getting to wack a few zombies around over the head. I’ve yet to play alot of it but it really plays like Dead Island. The only real difference if I recall correctly is that in Dead Island, you can’t jump and move the way you do in Dying Light. I will keep everyone updated more on the game as I go through it though. So far so good…

evolve

Evolve. This game so far started off very questionable. If you are sitting there wondering if you should buy this game…let me ask you a couple of questions. Do you have 60 dollars to blow off? Go for it. Do you have friends who will buy the game around the same time you do to play with you around the same time… definitely buy this game. If you answered no to any of these questions… Don’t buy it in all honestly. Its a great game and concept but its friend dependent for those who are a bit anti social. Reason I say this is because the game solo is pretty weak. If you are the monster it might be fun for the time being but those things on repeat get tiring. As a hunter with friends its actually more entertaining when it comes to actually hunting down the monster. Depending on the monster skill set who is actually controlled by an actual player, it can go from a total ownage on the monster or you might get stalked and hunted down and not even know what happened… So the game basically leans both ways and its  hard decision to make if its a good game to go all out on. So far its been great imo. Almost wish they had a single player mode to give some more story into the randomness.

I will have more on these games and other games in the coming weeks. Right now I will try to get some hours in with Dying Light and see how that all plays out and as for Evolve I will upload a video of a match up I had that lasted 3 minutes and change which was totally epic for the hunters. Stay tune for more later on 🙂 and share this with friends who love reading randomness…

World of Warcraft : Warlords of Draenor expansion review in Progress

Been in this game since alpha...

Yet another chapter…

Hey everyone, I am back blogging about my randomness with the new expansion and other randomnesses that has been going on. So here goes nothing for this expansion.

Where do I begin when it comes to this expansion. We’ve gone through the best and the worse when it comes to WOW and what I mean is WOTLK and CATA. WOTLK was one of the best experiences I’ve had in WOW aside from Vanilla. Cata had so many faults to it. IE dungeons being hard for the “Addon Players” ( Definition: Players who started WOW during an addon) Alot of people forgot what CC was or never knew what that sheep looking button did. Alot of people thought they could reck tank like they did in WOTLK. Devs really tried a number on us when CATA happen and ruined alot of the players.

WOD or Warlords of Draenor changed alot of the randomness we had in WOW. Things like dungeons seem a bit challenging at times but not on a ridiculous level where a noobie can actually understand whats going on. IE dont stand in fire mechanics. The garrison is one of the greatest additions to the game ever since the pet combat system. While questing you can actually get upgrades and dungeon loot methods changed into LFR style yet reverted back yesterday…. That was good went bad real quick due to demand of the emotionally hurt.

I’m going to just cover a few areas of improvement for the expansion to give you further insight of whats been going on and what to look forward to when you play the expansion.

Garrrisons: Home sweet home.

Garrisons are a blessing into this game for several reasons. Where do I even begin to explain how amazing this addition to the game has been. You basically get your own base to do as you wish with it. You are a commander to these random “followers” you get through questing and story progress. These followers one way or another can help you through various task while you quest or with you on quest depending on a certain “perk” they have called Bodyguard ( I think? I don’t have one yet lol) This reminds me of the system placed in SWTOR which was purely amazing with the companions. You had someone who you would take with you on quest and at times while you are doing other things you sent em on various missions to get you supplies for crafting or have em craft for you. Basically you can do just about the same with supply errands and random quest that yield loot or any other randomness. They also have in time Dungeon errands and Raid errands once their ilvl is up to par.

Dungeon Looting: Was a great idea til someone cried about it.

Do you recall the LFR loot system? You ran in there beat the crap out of a boss and ran to his body to see if you got something… “DAMN IT. GOLD AGAIN?!” Next boss you go off randomly beat the crap out of that boss and search through the body ” OMMMMMGWAAARDDDD MY BOW! AND NO ONE TO FIGHT OVER THIS BOW WITH EVEN THOUGH WE GOT LIKE 30 HUNTERS IN A 25man RAID!” Yep recall that randomness? Well they decided to introduce this system into the dungeons for WOD. IMO it was probably one of the best ideas they had because now instead of going to a dungeon and having to worry about the other plate wearing bastards like the holy paladin who needs my tank gear with the hopes he can tank one day too, I could just go in and if I get something I get something. If I don’t…. I don’t. No need to compete in rolls.

Apparently this whole system was trashed out in a hotfix yesterday due to the complaints of people feeling that the game wasn’t feeling rewarding enough when getting gear in dungeon finder… >_> You want to feel rewarded in dungeon finder? You’ve gotta be kidding me. Apparently with a premade group you can set the settings the way you want them to be so I guess I will be selling tank queues at 500g and going back to that form of looting.

Dungeons: The farm continues…

So dungeons in a way are a bit easier compared to how Cata did things. MOP sorta cleaned up the randomness and made things too easy but WOD feels like they kinda did some challenges within these dungeons to help keep the majority interested. Some fights don’t seem like you can just dps the boss down for the giggles. Alot of the regular dungeon fights actually showed some decent mechanics this time around to keep people on their feet. Even though in regular dungeons its not that serious but seems to been having an effect on people through heroics.

So thats basically it for now about WOD. Comparing this to FFXIV, WOW has def been around for 10 years and they do have the experience and all and taken ideas from other mmos to implement into theirs and yet making it so much better IE Housing aka Garrisons.  WOW is def going for the long run to make alot of the fans happy and going in on the battle of MMORPGS. With this expansion set in motion things only got better from 6 million to 10 million with in a couple of weeks….

Destiny Review

150017brp3

Hey everyone… lets see how Destiny did 🙂

So I will break this review into a few parts to get my point across. Scoring from 1-5, 5 being Epic 1 Being Horrible.

  1. Gameplay
  2. Story
  3. Presentation
  4. Randomness (Yes… Randomness)

1. Gameplay: 3

This is going to be a tough one to break down. We are talking about RPGS here when we talk about the build and structure of destiny. We are also talking about 500 million dollars that went into this project and in a sense had a lot to show for it in a sense. So let’s try this to get the ball rolling and for people to easily understand why and why not this game is pretty good and also pretty bad at the same time.

1888831_10152453101960923_2155874966310852_o destiny_e3.0_cinema_640.0

From levels 1-20 This game has it all for gameplay. You level you rank up your items you rank up yourself. You get to explore around a bit with patrol missions and even get bounties giving some purpose in the game. You also get to experience strikes which are like dungeons for World of Warcraft in a sense with 2 other friends or randoms. The gun play in the game from beginning to end is perfect along with the added skill sets you get for your character. IE Titan using fist of havoc which is like a huge hulk smash AOE that obliterates all around the Titan. You get all this and in the beginning the loot is great because in most scenarios there is nowhere to go but up…

This is where the game gets ugly for gameplay. Levels 21-30. You’ve now reached the level of 20 and the only way to level now to experience the better content which you in turn find out are replays of old missions and strikes at a harder difficulty is by gear and not all of the gear. Your armor related gear that provides a Light stat increases your level as you move up in the game. You have to get these pieces and upgrade them in order to continue to level up to be more effective in later on content.  You can do this a number of ways with crucible and regular pve material strikes and missions. You also get dailies and weeklies which is awesome. Everyone is after the same thing and that’s the Raid. This material is open up around lvl 26+ and uses 6 guardians. This piece of randomness is the only piece of randomness that i’ve found to be different from the games regular style of playing.  It’s actually refreshing to play the raid randomness.  Don’t get me wrong i love a simple grind to get my gear and everything but the loot system’s RNG is horrible. When did this become the norm? I am so used to be able to play certain missions and being able to come out with decent gear or close to it each time.  I understand we got a 10 year plan going but is this how Bungie and Activision will achieve this. Through the whole process of holding you back so much and breaking up future expansions in to small 2-3 missions 1 strike and a raid?  This is looking bad.

2.Story: 1

495a81584f1414a88ac7e2d816f3b8ee

This story is horrible. I never look for a story but some games that are horrible at doing so told better stories comparing to Destiny IE World of Warcraft. This game brings you in on the beginning telling you that you are basically one of the last hopes of man kind to help the last city and the traveler? Who is the traveler? I’m going with the huge moon like object hovering over the city. Do I know about the traveler? The enemies we have to fight and why and whats really going on? Will we get the planet back? I don’t know because none of this is really explained in the game at all. Apparently they have this thing on the site called grimoires that are supposed to piece the entire story for you. First off to hop off the game to read about it I would do if it’s about building the character or trying to get things going for a raid but in order to learn the story part of the entire game through words and words alone. No video No epic cutscenes No nada?! This is horrendous. I think the 50 cent game back on PS3 had better story telling than this mess!

3. Presentation:5

destiny-2-destiny-the-problems-mount-for-halo-creators-bungie

Lets be real this game looks amazing from exploring to the randomness of actually blowing things up and seeing mobs disintegrate. It all looks so amazing. I have no problems with the presentation of the game and how it looks and sounds. Even the background music in a boss fight sounds damn near amazing. They did a pretty good number with the visuals and sound.

4.Randomness:1

here we ago again

here we ago again

The first time around the game has its flare but it quickly lost that flare by the time i hit lvl 4. I found myself completing the same style missions over and over. If you played the game on mute you would swear that you played the same mission over and over in a different area.  It was cool at first when you really didn’t notice it, sorta like love at first sight, then you really got to know this game.  I recall someone saying in a video that if you can see it you can explore it. Yet you die if you cross a certain boundary? I recall that the loot system would be awarding but if there is any bit of randomness the loot system would be it. It is completely random. I’ve seen people come out with shaders while others come out with exotics out of a pvp match and they did horrible lol.  This game did just come out and I guess in time because it is a RPG style game related to WOW and SWTOR and FFXIV in its own genre situation it will hash out the majority of the problems. As of now its got a lot of work to do. It was great and all but the game and the way it plays its epic. As far as story and progression its possibly one of the worse games I’ve played in a long time.

Overall:3

The game is great in a sense but it has a lot of work to get going.
